Advanced Web Design & Development

Our advanced web design & development courses requires you to have completed the previous 2 courses and the expectation is that you have a confident grasp of (X)HTML and  should have a basic practical experience with CSS. This course is especially useful for front-end engineer or designers, app designers, web editors or web project managers. 

We expect you to have very good keyboard skills are essential as this is not a taught Dreamweaver / WYSIWYG course and work will be hand-coded. This will give you first hand experience to code rather than rely on tools to help you, building up your expertise in becoming a web developer. 

As part of the course, we will provide you a thorough grounding in CSS theory combined with practical strategies for turning graphical mockups and textual content into functioning CSS-styled websites. Emphasis is on techniques that make sites accessible to users and search engines alike. A variety of common layout issues and code patterns is covered.

There may be changes to the structure but this would give you an indication of how our classes are programmed, to ensure we deliver a high-class teaching environment.

  1. HTML taught over 1 class. 

  2. CSS taught over 1 class. 

  3. Bootstrap taught over 1 class.

  4. HTML, CSS test done in 1 class. 

  5. PHP Framework taught over 17 classes. 

  6. JavaScript taught over 5 classes. 

  7. Ajax taught over 5 classes. 

  8. JQuery taught over 5 classes. 

  9. PHP, JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery test done in 1 class. 

  10. Overall final test done in 1 class. 

  11. Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr Introducing taught over 1 class.

Total number of classes is 39 and completion of the 39 hours course. We expect you to do 40 hours a week of your own study, to ensure you learn the technologies. With any courses, you will be expected to do a number of hours outside of your classes. 

By the end of the course you will be able to

  1. Understand how CSS works, and what makes it break.

  2. Avoid common design pitfalls.

  3. Code using best practices that benefit accessibility and SEO.

  4. Translate graphical mockups into websites without reliance on WYSIWYG tools.
